How We Grow focuses on learning environment enrichment for the Cunniff School in three outdoor classroom spaces: 1) The Butterfly Reading Garden for Literacy and a Peaceful Community 2) The “How We Grow Natural Science Labs" for all students to gain hands-on experientail STEAM enrichement and 3)The Natural Playscape Elements for the youngest students in Pre-K-1st grade. All Cunniff Students will benefit from the enrichment of their outdoor learning environments as the school commits to class time in the outdoor learning labs to support STEAM and Literacy Curriculums. Something for Everyone with a Can-do Attitude! We will pair those with little to no gardening or DIY construction experience with project leaders. If you would like to lead a project in the garden or one of the playscape improvements please let us know. Please wear clothing appropriate for gardening or DIY construction. Tools (Gardening/DIY) helpful! If you have a truck and might be willing to pick up materials (pre-paid) please let us know in advance. Pizza Provided at noon or BYO Bag Lunch. Children may volunteer with an adult. Please let us know what part of the day you would like to help with a) Garden or b) Playscape DIY or c) general help so we can plan accordingly!
