  • Deliver outreach packets any time week of May 4th

    Upcoming Dates

    05/02/2015

    09:00 AM - 10:00 AM

PCHP works with at-risk preschool age children and a parent in their home setting. This is a free program, under the Watertown Public Schools, for qualifying families with a child from 16 months to 4 years. Trained home visitors visit over a two year period, using books and toys with the parent and child to promote learning. Parents are empowered and supported as they prepare their children for kindergarten. Volunteers will pick up outreach packets to be delivered to community partners such as the Library, Watertown Housing Authority, Food Pantry, Boys & Girls Club the public schools, WIC, and police station. Time commitment for each volunteer is about 1 hour. Assistance with outreach will help PCHP to find more eligible families in our community. It is difficult to find families who can benefit the most from our services. We rely heavily on other organizations to refer families to us. Because of our very limited budget, legwork by volunteers will greatly help bring our services to the attention of other organizations who serve our population with food, housing, etc. Volunteers can pick up outreach packet either (1) Sat. May 2 at end of volunteer breakfast, 9am - 9:45am from Kathy Kopp of PCHP; or (2) any morning of the week of May 4 from 30 Common St. When the volunteer can deliver outreach packets: Any time the volunteer wishes, when the addressee business is open, preferably week of May 4. Where to pick up packets week of May 4: Monday May 4 to Friday, May 8: Outreach packets will be clearly labeled and ready to go at the Watertown Family Network, 1st floor, 30 Common Street. The Family Center is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 12:30. (Note: Packets can also be picked up Sat. May 2, at end of volunteer breakfast, 9am - 9:45am from Kathy Kopp.) Don’t forget to join us from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on May 2nd at the Arsenal Project for a kickoff breakfast and free T-shirt!
