Shoestring Family Theatre
We are a nonprofit, public benefit organization which produces a single major musical with a Broadway pedigree each summer. Participants come from all over the Santa Clara Valley and consist of children and adults from all walks of life--from first-graders to corporate vice presidents. Sounds simple, right? But it's oh, so much more! Rehearsal time Everyone who auditions for our shows is guaranteed to be assigned a part regardless of experience or training. Is being in a musical something you've always wanted to try but never had the courage to because you thought you "weren't good enough"? We don't believe that there is any such thing as "not good enough". Everyone has their particular gifts and talents, and we will help you find yours. We'll teach you everything you need to know so you can shine like a star in the show. Since we are an inter-generational program, we cast performers in age-appropriate roles. Adults play adults and children play children. We work hard to find shows that feature children; past productions include "Peter Pan", "A Little Princess", "Godspell", "Annie", and "Bye Bye Birdie". We believe that adults, teens, and children can all benefit and learn together by working together on a on a single project. Everyone learns new skills, develops self-confidence and improved self-image, and respect for each other.
Mission: We don't believe that there is any such thing as "not good enough". Everyone has their particular gifts and talents, and we will help you find yours. We'll teach you everything you need to know so you can shine like a star in the show.
