Please note that only Give Back Time, Inc. administrators and non-profits with whom the volunteer has requested a connection will be able to see the following information.

Full Legal Name : This information is required and will personally identify the user to givebacktime.org and to the non-profits that the user connects with for purposes of future identification and verification of hours served.

Email Address : This information is required and permits Give Back Time, Inc. to contact the volunteer with updates to corporate information, with volunteer opportunities if the volunteer so requests, and to answer any questions the volunteer may ask. It also serves as a volunteer’s login to the site.

Postal Code : This information is required and allows Give Back Time, Inc. to connect the volunteer with non-profits within their own community.

Phone Number : This information is required and allows non-profit organizations with whom the volunteer is connected to contact them if there are pre-approval criteria, last minute event changes, etc.

Birth Date : This information is required. Give Back Time, Inc. does not knowingly or intentionally collect information from minors under 13. Requiring a date of birth upon registration permits us to more easily ensure that such information is not being collected.

Gender : This information is required. Although Give Back Time, Inc. has a strict nondiscrimination policy, there are rare times when a non-profit will require that a volunteer be of a specific gender, ie. a shelter for battered women.

Interests : This information is not required. If provided, this information will assist Give Back Time, Inc. in presenting volunteer opportunities based on a volunteers particular passion.
From Non-profits

Full Legal Entity Name : This information is required and aids Give Back Time, Inc. in verifying the non-profit; it will also benefit volunteers when searching for non-profits with which they would like to volunteer.

DBA Name : This information is not required. If provided, it may assist volunteers in more easily finding non-profits with which they would like to volunteer.

EIN : This information is required and allows Give Back Time, Inc. to verifying that the non-profit has been declared exempt within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3).

Full Registered Address : This information is required and will allow us to show your volunteer opportunities in appropriate searches, to add a mapping feature to profiles and opportunities, and to track what geographic areas organizations are coming from to ensure that each local community provides service opportunities to its residents.

URL : This information is not required. If provided, a link will be given on the non-profits profile page, allowing volunteers to learn more about the organization.

Mission Statement : This information is required and will describe, for the benefit of the volunteers, the tax-exempt purpose of the non-profit. This information should be the legal description of the organization.

General Text : This information is not required, but allows the non-profit additional space to describe its volunteer needs.

Causes Cloud : This information is required and allows the non-profit to identify the field in which it works through an easily identifiable descriptor and image.

Profile Administrator’s Name : This information is required and will provide Give Back Time, Inc. and volunteers with a contact person within the non-profit.

Profile Administrator’s Title : This information is required and provide Give Back Time, Inc. and volunteers with information as to who they are working with within the non-profit.

Contact Phone Number : This information is required. Although Give Back Time, Inc. strives to provide all necessary information for each non-profit and opportunity, there may be times when a volunteer or Give Back Time, Inc. needs to directly or immediately contact the non-profit.

Contact Email : This information is required and allows Give Back Time, Inc. to contact the non-profit with updates to corporate information and will permit volunteers to easily contact the non-profit with questions or to comply with any additional application requirements the non-profit may have. This will also act as the organization’s login.
Changes to this policy
From time to time, it may be necessary for us to make changes to this Data Policy. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to update or modify this Data Policy at any time. When changes are made, the policy will be immediately updated on our website with a note specifying the “last updated” date. If any significant change is made to this policy, we will notify users about the specific change via email. Significant changes to the policy will go into effect 30 days after notification is made. Your continued use of the site after updates are made constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Disputes
This agreement shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In agreeing to this document, the user submits to the personal jurisdiction of the courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the purpose of resolving all claims or disputes.
